Getting Started – Gathering Basic Information

 

 

Before beginning the setup of your email client, there is basic information you should have at-hand in order to complete the setup more easily. Click > HERE < for detailed account setup information found in the Account Information Sheet. If you need additional information to compete setup, please contact us for details.

 

 

Email Setup for Apple iPhone

 

Depending on the version of iPhone software you are using, some of the settings referenced in the instructions below may appear differently. For further information on iPhone settings, please visit apple.com .

 

From the iPhone home screen:

 

  • Tap the Settings app

  • Select the “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” tab

  • Tap the “Add Account” tab

  • Tap “Other”

  • Tap on the “Add Mail Account” tab

  • Enter your Full Name

  • Enter your full jamadots.com email address

  • Enter Password

  • Enter a Description, if one is not already present. (optional)

  • Tap Next button

  • Tap POP button

  • Under “Incoming Mail Server”, enter the Host Name: pop.jamadots.com

  • Enter your jamadots.com Username (For example: If your Email address is johnsmith@jamadots.com, just enter johnsmith) 

  • Enter Password

  • Exit to Account Setup Page

  • Under “Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)”, tap on Primary Server and enter the Host Name: mail.jamadots.com

  • Enter your full username@jamadots.com email address for the Username

  • Enter Password

  • Be sure that “Use SSL” is set to “Yes or On”

  • Also, check that Authentication is set to “Password”

  • If you are required to enter a server port, set it to “587”

  • Tap Save

  • Select the jamadots account you just created

  • Tap “Advanced”

  • In the Advanced screen, under Incoming Settings:

  • Be sure that “Use SSL” is set to “Yes or On”

  • Also, check that Authentication is set to “Password”

  • If you are required to enter a server port, set it to “110”

  • Save your changes and exit Settings

 

After completing these steps you should be able to send and receive email via this account.

From the iPad home screen:

 

  • Tap the Settings app

  • Select the “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” tab

  • Tap the “Add Account” tab

  • Tap “Other”

  • Tap on the “Add Mail Account” tab

  • Enter your Full Name

  • Enter your full jamadots.com email address

  • Enter Password

  • Enter a Description, if one is not already present. (optional)

  • Tap Next button

  • Tap POP button

  • Under “Incoming Mail Server”, enter the Host Name: pop.jamadots.com

  • Enter your jamadots.com Username (For example: If your Email address is johnsmith@jamadots.com, just enter johnsmith) 

  • Enter Password

  • Exit to Account Setup Page

  • Under “Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)”, tap on Primary Server and enter the Host Name: mail.jamadots.com

  • Enter your full username@jamadots.com email address for the Username

Email Setup for Apple Mail

 

Depending on the version of Apple Mail you are using, some of the settings referenced in the instructions below may appear differently. For further information on Apple Mail settings, please visit apple.com.

 

  • Open Apple Mail Tab (Click it on the Dock or open it from the Applications folder)

  • Click on the Mail menu (Located at the top of your screen. Select "Preferences". )

  • The Preferences window will appear. If it has not already opened to the 'Accounts' section, click on 'Accounts' in the toolbar. This is where you set up new Email accounts, and modify existing ones.

  • Click the '+' button at the bottom of the left-hand pane to create a new account. This new account is now listed in the left-hand pane called 'New Account'.

  • The "Welcome to Mail" assistant will appear.

  • Enter your full name or business

  • Enter your full jamadots.com email address

  • Enter Password

  • Click Continue

Note: Your email account password will be stored in Keychain to allow you to automatically log in to your email account when you open Mail.

  • Select "Setup manually"

  • Click Continue

  • Select “POP” as your Account Type

  • Enter a Description, if one is not already present. (optional)

  • Enter the Incoming Mail Server: pop.jamadots.com

  • Enter your full jamadots.com email address as the Username

  • Enter Password

  • Click Continue 

  • Ensure that the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) checkbox remains checked

  • Select Password from the Authentication drop down menu

  • Click Continue

  • Enter a Description for the Outgoing Mail Server, if one is not already present. (optional)

  • Enter the Outgoing Mail Server: mail.jamadots.com

  • Be sure to select "Use Authentication"

  • Enter your full jamadots.com email address as the Username

  • Enter Password

  • Click Continue

  • Verify your settings in the Account Summary

  • Check "Take account online"

  • Click "Create" to complete the process

  • Open the Mail application. Click Mail on the top navigation bar and then click Preferences from the drop-down menu

  • Select the jamadots Online Email Account that you just added a moment ago

  • Select the drop down next to the Outgoing Mail Server section and select Edit SMTP Server List

  • Ensure that the jamadots online email account you just created is selected

  • Click on the text box next to “Use custom port” and enter “587”

  • Select Password from the drop down box under Authentication

  • Ensure that your full jamadots online email address is in the User Name field and that your jamadots online email address is in the password field. This is the password assigned to your jamadots username.

  • Click OK

 

After completing these steps you should be able to send and receive email via this account.
